Sullivan County, New York
Straight out a storybook, the Eco Cabin was built with recycled materials, and lumber from trees in our backyard.
Sullivan County is in the Western Catskills of New York State. It’s famous as a river area, with the Delaware River weaving through the beautiful towns and hamlets across this rural paradise. Unlike the Hudson River Valley, the Delaware River area is often a bit more rugged, less populated, and thus more wild. This is also due to the fact that there are no direct trains from New York City to Sullivan County, making it less prone to development than areas like Beacon, Hudson, Rhinebeck, Poughkeepsie, and Cold Spring.

For many, this makes it an untouched paradise free of many modern headaches, and a beautiful spot for nature lovers, hunters, artists, writers, and those seeking a quieter way of life; while still, technically, only being 90 minutes from the George Washington Bridge.
The Clearing Farm guidebook to Sullivan County focuses mainly on the towns on the western side of the Catskill Mountains and along the Delaware River—Glen Spey, Barryville, Narrowsburg, and Livingston Manor. However, we also cover things to do outside but adjancet to this area in towns like Port Jervis, NY and Matamoras, PA.
